The number of commercial cases launched in the High Court has risen to its highest level for six years.
Statistics reveal there were 64,046 civil cases launched in the High Court in 2007 — a 1.6% increase on 2006. The number of commercial proceedings initiated fell between 1999 and 2005, with 2007 the second consecutive year of growth.
