A federal judge in Philadelphia has ruled that Pennsylvania, not California, law applies to an insurance coverage case in which the policy was created in Pennsylvania but the action requiring indemnification originated in California. The judge said insurer St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance had to indemnify PhotoMedex in a malicious prosecution claim against the company and has to pay attorney fees to L.A.-based Morgan Lewis & Bockius partners who worked on settlement negotiations in the underlying case.
